Hi there, I’m Deepak Oberai.
I’m a qualified optometrist with 20+ years of experience, and I’m committed to giving people a more individual eyewear service with incredible glasses to choose from.
I’m the founder and owner of Station Road Opticians in Cheadle Hulme as well as our sister branch, Albert Road Opticians in Wilmslow.
As the lead optometrist at both, I take your eye health seriously, providing longer and more detailed testing so you can enjoy a more customised and empathetic approach.
And being a long-time glasses wearer too, I’m passionate about making you feel self-confident and effortlessly cool in your own glasses.

Optometry Experience
After completing my optometry training at City University in London in 2003, I pursued my passion by working in Manchester and proudly joining the General Optical Council with full qualifications.
Then, working in a private laser clinic as a residential Optometrist, I gathered crucial experience in refractive surgery as well as working as a locum Optometrist for various practices.
By this time, I had discovered there was something vital missing from eyecare service and it was time for me to start my own opticians.
My mission? To give people the personal eyecare and standout eyewear they were looking for 🚀
So I opened Albert Road Opticians (Wilmslow) first in 2012, followed by Station Road Opticians (Cheadle Hulme) in 2018.
Since then, we’ve helped thousands of people find their eyewear confidence with glasses that transform their outlook and their appearance.

Passion For Unique Designer Glasses
The drive behind Station Road Opticians is that I grew up wearing glasses that were pretty ordinary and unstylish – just like so many others.
When I at last found my first pair of amazing, unique glasses I felt like a totally new person.
Then the compliments from people around me started to pour in (quite unexpectedly!) and I realised this was how everyone should feel when they pick out their glasses.
From there my passion for eyewear became our mission for Station Road – we’re ‘Saving The World From Mediocre Glasses’.
And we mean it! We’re doing everything possible to provide a service unlike any other and offer glasses that are stylish, cleverly engineered and can’t be found on the high street.
Attention to detail is my thing, and that makes my ethos at Station Road and Albert Road stand apart from the rest: we leave no stone unturned to give you the vision and style you’re looking for.
