Founder and lead optometrist, Deepak Oberai, started Station Road Opticians to bring stylish eyewear and true personal service to glasses wearers in South Manchester.
As a glasses wearer since his teens, Deepak knows firsthand the dissatisfaction of wearing average glasses that only make you feel so-so.
But after discovering his inaugural pair of standout glasses, and the instant confidence they brought, it ignited a passion to make glasses and enjoyable and empowering for others, too. (Not something to dread 🙅♂️)
So Albert Road Opticians (Wilmslow) was founded in 2010, followed by Station Road Opticians (Cheadle Hulme) in 2018, to provide the outstanding one-on-one service and individual eyewear clients were looking for.
A third location, Stanley Square Opticians (Sale), opened in 2025 to further give the people in South Manchester the best eyewear experience around.

In 2024 we donated proceeds from our eye test to support Guide Dogs UK.
In previous years, we’ve supported refugees from Ukraine, donated glasses to Lions Club International for optical missions, donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust at Stepping Hill Hospital, and held a Charity Cocktail event to support the Chelmswood Foodbank Plus.
And we partner with local businesses wherever possible – like Inventery (our favourite Cheadle Hulme neighbourhood bar) for our event, and Kickback Coffee for the freshly roasted beans we use to make your brew when you visit us.
Glasses aren’t just a business to us. Our position within our community has enabled us to help give back.
